The novel I’ve drafted involves paranormal suspense with a Christian twist.
Huh?
I know, many of my Christian friends cringe when I tell them my book involves ghosts. But you see, I once heard a pastor say that if you encounter what you believe to be a ghost, it’s probably an angel and or demon in disguise.
Once I heard that, my mind was off and running.
And so it is that my protagonist, Grace, begins to wrestle with the notion too, leaving her to wonder if the ghost she is smitten with, is actually an angel or – gasp! – a demon.
You’ll have to read the book to figure it out. However, you don’t have to read the book to explore the notion further on your own.
We all know that when we cross over to the other side at what we call “death,” we leave our attachment to the physical by leaving behind the vehicle (our body) that essentially housed us here on earth.
From the Bible, we also know about two possible destinations for our souls, heaven or hell.
The Bible also talks about the living and the dead, and is suggestive of that in-between time. “…absent from the body, present with the Lord” is one of several references discussing the transfer of the soul. The Bible also makes several references to angels.
Personally, I find something very warm and delightful about the thought of angels with us. Stories involving angels among us have been around for ages. Most of those stories involve unknown visitors who appear with a message or provide physical help, then vanish without notice.
Each story is amazing and enlightening, and brings hope that the presence of beings with Godly knowledge may be helping and/or guiding us.
I’d love to hear from you if you’ve experienced an angel…or a ghost, because it just may well have been an angel or demon in disguise.
But please, I’m not here to debate the occult or voodoo or Christianity’s view of ghosts. For answers and guidance, I encourage you to reference your Bible. Dig deep into that incredible book because, really, as Vance Havner said: “The Bible that is falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn’t.”
