Planning Precious Nothingness

IMG_1314List: Things to do on my day off

A day off?  What’s that?

Yes, there’s always “work” to do on days off from work, isn’t there?  Even Saturdays are generally devoted to errands and household chores.

I’ve learned you have to be prepared when an extra day off rolls around.

Check your calendar. In two weeks, it’s Martin Luther King Day. If the weather’s good, I might go biking (finally!) on Jekyll Island with Just My Joe. If the cold weather continues, then I’ll write, and sketch a new layout for my office.

Have you penciled something fun to do on your calendar?

I’ve learned to make a list of things I’d like to do when I have the time.  Sounds silly perhaps, but I used to let the day arrive, then be unprepared or so overwhelmed with the options that I didn’t do any of them.

So, make your list of possibilities, then plan your day.  And, stay warm!

Dear Deb, I did not see “visit my favorite cousin in the Villages” on that list………..Darlene if you read this “I love you too”…………………………

Great post, Deb. I thrive with structure so I’m all about having a list ready for days “off”. I’ll make that list on my next day off. 🙂 Thanks for the idea!

You’ve got me making mini lists, at least. My father-in-law always wants to go for an “errand” (little ride) every day. Coming up with errands was costing me money because I kept going to the store. Now I keep a list of little errands I could do–go to recycle–go to library to find one the books mentioned on a daily calendar a certain friend gave me–etc. Helps with the spur-of-the-moment request, “Got any errands to do?” and helps to have non-shopping places already in mind.

    A great idea!
